Parent + Tot
A great way to introduce the art of dance to your little one. Dancers will enhance their gross motor skills, improve their sense of rhythm and co-ordination, and will be introduced to dance in a positive way. This class provides development of body awareness and function through creative movement. Best of all, it’s lots of fun to dance alongside your little one! All participants must be 2 years old. This class does not participate in recitals.
This class is our 3 year old program. This 1/2 hour class is based in creative movement with ballet basics. The focus of this program is to increase overall gross motor skills and musicality.
Kindercombo 1 + 2
This hour long class consists of 20 minutes each of ballet, tap and jazz. By training children in all three dance styles they receive the training benefits of each dance style. Kindercombo 1 is for 4 year olds, Kindercombo 2 is for 5 year olds.
For the Pre-Jr Acro class, dancers must be enrolled in a Kindercombo class.
Mama + Babe DanceFIT
Kangaroo DanceFIT Class
This 1 hour class is for moms with their babies in carriers. Class consists of ballet barre work, strength exercises done with baby, and stretching for mom. A great way for moms to get some exercise while connecting with other moms in a safe, non-judgemental environment.
Tap is one of the oldest American art forms. It arose from a huge melting pot of ideas, customs, music and dance styles. With the exception of Spanish dance, it is the only field that incorporates the element of sound. Tap is the best way to enhance co-ordination, rhythm, and musical understanding.
Jazz dance is commonly taught in dance schools and performed by dance companies around the world. It continues to be an essential element of musical theatre choreography, where it may be interwoven with other dance styles as appropriate for a particular show. Jazz is designed to give students technique and style integrated with developing flexibility, strength, and a sense of musicality.
Ballet & Pointe
Ballet is a classical dance form demanding grace and precision. Ballet is the key ingredient to a dancer’s training. It increases body awareness, posture, strength and balance. It also teaches the dancer focus, discipline and determination.
Advanced ballet dancers may go on to dance on pointe – a style of dance performed in pointe shoes on the tips of the toes. Our pointe program is by invitation only.
Contemporary dance is a fusion of ballet and jazz dance techniques. Students must train in either ballet or jazz prior to taking lyrical. This dance style provides a great escape for dancers. It allows the dancer to interpret the music and let their body tell the story.
Acro dance is a style of dance that combines classical dance techniques with precision acrobatic elements. It is defined by its athletic character and its unique choreography, which seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics. It provides dancers with strength, flexibility, and increases their overall athleticism.
This class is a combination of Jazz & Acro. Dancers take 30 mins of acro and 30 mins of jazz. Acro dance is a style of dance that combines classical dance techniques with precision acrobatic elements. It is defined by its athletic character and its unique choreography, which seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics. It provides dancers with strength, flexibility, and increases their overall athleticism.
Hip Hop dance refers to dance styles primarily danced to hip hop music or that have evolved as part of hip hop culture. This includes a wide range of styles notably breaking, locking, popping, and krumping.
Boys Only Hip Hop
A class just for our boys! Boys will learn a variety of hip hop styles in a fun positive atmosphere. Please note boys are welcome in any class offered at Dance London. Jr is for boys 5-8 and Int is for boys 9 and up.
Musical Theatre is a combination of dance, acting and song. This class consists of vocal training, jazz technique, dramatic games and auditioning skills. Musical theatre training is an asset to a dancer as it broadens their talents making them a triple threat.
Stretch, Jump & Turn
The focus of this class is to train the dancer’s body to be better aligned, stronger and more flexible. By using several balance, flexibility, and strength exercises dancers achieve stronger overall dance technique.
We currently offer ballet, hip hop and jazz, and a stretch & conditioning class for adults. No dance experience required! Dance classes are great for increasing balance, co-ordination and strength. So put on your dancing shoes and come and join us—we guarantee you will leave class with a smile on your face!
This class is very special to Dance London. We believe everyone should have the chance to learn the art of dance. This class is designed for students with special needs with the focus on fun and maximizing class participation. Students learn ballet and jazz techniques. Please note we are not wheel chair accessible.
