ATTENDANCE

Attendance will be taken at the beginning of each class. We do keep attendance records for all of our students; however, it is not a monitoring system and they are not 100% accurate.

Missed classes may not be deducted from tuition payments. Due to student-teacher ratios, make-up classes are not available.

PANDEMIC POLICY

It is agreed that if put into lockdown or capacity restriction orders due to COVID 19, variants of concern, or for any other reason under orders from the Provincial or Federal Government or the local Health Unit, classes will be held online via zoom. By registering for classes in our 2023-2024 season you are agreeing to continue classes online via zoom when under lockdown or capacity restriction orders. If you cancel when classes are being held online the studio’s cancellation policy still applies.

UNIFORM

It is important that dancers be dressed in the required dance attire for their classes. One wouldn’t go to hockey practice without the proper equipment. Dance is no different! You cannot do a ballet class properly when dressed in street clothes. Please make sure your dancer is dressed in the required dance clothing and footwear.

Dancewear requirements for all classes can be found here: https://dancelondonstudio.com/dancewear-requirements/

Uniforms can be purchased year-round from many dance stores around the city.

Please ensure all parts of your child’s uniform are clearly labeled – individual shoes, tights, bodysuits etc. You’ll be amazed at the amount of lost property we generate!

COSTUMES & RECITAL

There is a $70 + HST costume deposit due November 1, 2024 and a $40 + HST costume balance due March 1, 2025 for each class taken ($110 + HST total). This will be automatically deducted from the credit card on file. Families are responsible for the purchase of a costume for each class taken. Parent & tot, Adult classes, and tumbling classes do not participate in the recital. Dance tights are not included in costume costs. Families are required to purchase the required tights for their dancer.

All regular-season classes participate in our year-end recital. Tickets are required to watch our year-end recital and are not included in the tuition price.

To avoid high costume costs to our families, our costumes come from dance costume suppliers in the USA. They are “off the rack” dance costumes and not custom fit. We do our best to size children in a costume that is closest to their measurements. We cannot guarantee a perfect fit. Custom costumes that are hand-sewn range in cost from $350-$500 each.

DanceBUG

Recital recordings will be accessible online on a platform called DangeBUG. This platform can be viewed online and easily shared with family and friends who were unable to attend the recital. The shows can be viewed on iOS and Google Play apps, allowing for offline viewing.

The DanceBUG fee will be processed on April 1, 2025, to all families with dancers participating in the recital (one fee per family). After the recital in June, we will share a link to all our families that will allow you to view the show. The DanceBUG fee is $29.50 plus HST.
